Small but perfectly formed is a phrase that could have been coined especially for George House Apartment, for what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in charm, style and location! Set right in the heart of the vibrant town of Henley in Arden, yet quietly situated to the rear of a wonderful black and white timbered building, this one bedroom apartment enjoys a tranquil location and views of the Norman Church of St Nicholas, yet is footsteps away from Henleys amazing selection of gastro pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops.
The apartment is part of a stunning conversion of one of Henley in Ardens most eye-catching and iconic listed buildings. The first floor apartment has a combined living/dining space with high specification kitchen off. Spiral stairs lead up to a luxuriously appointed shower room and good sized double bedroom. The apartment offers secure parking accessed through electric gates and has its own designated space (a godsend in popular Henley, where parking is always at a premium!) Formerly the George & Dragon pub, this lovely building has been sympathetically converted into a handful of high class apartments which combine architectural features with contemporary styling. Location, Location, Location! – Lively Henley in Arden provides the perfect base from which to explore Shakespeares England, with Stratford upon Avon and Warwick just a 15 minute drive away. This stunning town with its mile long high street is considered by many historians to be one of the most significant roads in England, thanks to its wonderful array of well-preserved houses, most of which date back hundreds of years. The town boasts a superb selection of places to eat, drink. There are five pubs (4 of which serve food), three Indian restaurants, two Chinese restaurants, a pizza restaurant, steak restaurant, fish & chip shop, bistro, ice cream parlour and not forgetting the renowned Michelin stared Cheals, all within a few minutes walk of the apartment, making this the ideal location for an epicurean break. The villages surrounding Henley offer a further fantastic selection of gastro pubs and restaurants if you appreciate fine food in a lovely setting then you really will be spoilt for choice! Should you so wish you can ditch your car and hop on the X50 Bards Bus into nearby Stratford upon Avon, or take a five minute walk to the station to take the train to Stratford upon Avon (15 minutes) or Birmingham (30 minutes) or travel via Wilmcote (home of Mary Ardens Farm) to Warwick.
